Seems unreasonable to provide such a comprehensive list of things that you condemn about religion, all skewed, without providing really any weight on the other side of the scale. A fair case would include references to positive things about religion so that the pros and cons can be judged fairly. Of course religion has been a major part of our culture for tens of thousands of years. Is your argument that was all bad, some kind of unnatural anomaly, and not something that naturally appeared which tended to help in our survival? Your argument is an accusation against your own ancestors, who were certainly religious. That golden rule notion, it has been taught by Christians in western culture in myriads of Sunday schools to hundreds of millions of folks. Now it is regularly cited by atheists as part of their moral outlook. Surely even the atheist must objectively credit Christians for teaching that to so many folks, even to our own ancestors who taught us?
